Blood Fibrin in Upper Gastrointestinal Tract Obstruction
نویسندگان
چکیده
After high gastrointestinal tract obstruction the blood fibrin increases rapidly. The change is more marked in animals with obstruction of the cardiac end of the stomach. The rise in fibrin parallels closely the toxemia characteristic of such conditions. These results indicate that liver insufficiency cannot be the cause of death in such obstructions.

The Viscosity of the Blood of the Dog after Obstruction of the Upper Gastrointestinal Tract
Estimations of the viscosity of the whole blood and plasma of the dog after experimental upper gastrointestinal tract obstruction are reported. With cardiac obstruction there is a rapid and marked rise in the viscosity of the whole blood and some increase in the viscosity of the plasma. The changes after pyloric obstruction are similar to those observed after cardiac obstruction. After obstruct...
متن کاملThe Oxygen Content of the Venous Blood of the Dog after Upper Gastrointestinal Tract Obstruction
There is a rapid fall in the oxygen content of the venous blood of the dog after upper gastrointestinal tract obstruction. This increased deoxidation is probably due to a combination of several factors. There is much evidence to suggest that active reducing bodies are present in the blood.
متن کاملSurface Tension of the Blood Serum of the Dog after Upper Gastrointestinal Tract Obstruction
After obstruction of the upper gastrointestinal tract the surface tension of the blood serum of the dog shows no marked change. There is a tendency of the time-drop to increase 24 hours after operation. There is no characteristic course of the time-drop.
متن کاملThe Sedimentation Rate of the Erythrocytes in Experimental Obstruction of the Gastrointestinal Tract
The results of the study of the suspension stability of the blood after upper gastrointestinal tract obstruction are reported. After obstruction of the cardiac end of the stomach, of the pylorus, and of the jejunum the red cells separate from the plasma much more rapidly than normal. The variation in sedimentation time is due to a variation in the physicochemical status of the blood.
متن کاملThe Chloride Content of the Tissues of the Dog after Experimental Gastrointestinal Tract Obstruction
Comparative observations are reported on the chloride content of the blood, liver, and muscle of the dog after obstruction of the upper gastrointestinal tract. After obstruction of the pylorus there is a marked fall in the chloride content of the liver, and a slight fall in the muscle. Similar changes are observed after obstruction of the jejunum. With obstruction of the cardiac end of the stom...
